Dermaroller therapy from 275

Reportedly used by Hollywood stars including Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Dermaroller therapy has attracted significant media interest recently.

Also known as medical skin needling, or micro-needling, Dermaroller therapy is designed to promote natural skin regeneration, giving a smooth appearance and a youthful glow. It is also effective in reducing unwanted skin defects such as scarring, cellulite and wrinkles.

The treatment uses a roller device that features very fine needles. After applying a topical local anaesthetic, the roller is used to introduce the micro-needles into the papillary dermal layer of the skin. This action on the dermis encourages the body to produce more collagen and elastin, which generate new skin cells to repair the skin, making it plumper and younger-looking.

Dermaroller therapy can significantly improve the appearance of scars such as those from acne or chicken pox, aged and sun-damaged skin, facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles, cellulite, hyperpigmentation and stretch marks.

Although there are a number of copycat roller products designed for home use, Genuine Dermaroller™ therapy – using longer needles that reach the dermis rather than the epidermis – is only available from trained medical practitioners at authorised clinics.

A single treatment can produce noticeable results but a programme of 2-5 treatments, spaced 2-3 months apart, is recommended to achieve optimum effects. Dermaroller therapy from 275
